Por: Marco Roncagliolo El 2018 es una año lleno de elecciones presidenciales en varios países como Venezuela, Cuba, Rusia, y un referéndum en Ecuador. Si bien podemos indicar que en el caso de Cuba, Venezuela y Rusia, puede ser que ganen los gobernantes que están actualmente en el poder,   también no puedo dejar de subrayar que existe una posibilidad de que salgan elegidos miembros de la oposición. Muchos de los países mencionados son  gobiernos autoritarios o prácticamente dictaduras, donde el poder está centralizado, se vulneran los derechos fundamentales, hay aparatos paramilitares y se han aplicado un culto a la personalidad.  Sin embargo, con las elecciones presidenciales en 2018, muchos de los presidentes que han apoyado directamente a Nicolás Maduro podrían ser sustituidos por otros presidentes, que se esperen tengan un comportamiento más democrático y deslinden de esta falsa democracia llamada República Bolivariana de Venezuela. The dystopian world of 1984 enfacises the concepts such as newspeak, a way of decreasing the amount of words in the English language; Big Brother, the representation of the powerful state with the famous phrase “Big Brother is Watching You”; the Thought Police, the main instrument of impossing the precepts of the Party; and Room 101, the chamber of torture where all of your fears imposse the will of the government.
